LIZZY THE LEZZY IN THE PRESS

Lizzy's Lesbian Journey

Lizzy the Lezzy was created by Ruth Selwyn, and is the first lesbian stand-up comedy animation. To date, the Lizzy the Lezzy short animated films have garnered over 2 million views. Lizzy started out on Myspace.com, and as a result of the online lesbian network she was spotted by Arlan Hamilton who writes one of the most popular Lesbian blogs on the internet. The publicity from Arlan's article led to The L Word Online suggesting to Ruth that she make a video about The L Word. Lizzy was more than happy to oblige and make fun of her favorite lesbians. Lydia Martin wrote about it on her Miami Herald blog, and it was also posted on AfterEllen.com.

Logo TV acquired the first ten Lizzy episodes and broadcast them on their Gay animation show Alien Boot Camp. Curve Magazine included Lizzy in an article entitled "Networking Lesbians " and LTOL International featured Ruth and Lizzy as well. Lizzy has also been featured on The Bilerico Project's "Sunday Funnies" and on Jewcy.com who described her as "The funniest lesbian on Myspace".

Ruth decided to make a special episode for National Coming Out Day, which was featured on Lovegirls.co.uk along with Lizzy's "Coming Out Guide" and mentioned by the Human Rights Campaign who subsequently asked Ruth to create an episode for the L Word Season Five Premier Parties across the United States.

Ruth currently resides in Israel where she was initially written about in Time Out and featured on HOT News. Ruth's short film "Lizzy does Gay Israel" opened the 2008 International LGBT Film Festival in Israel, and was also posted on Ynet, and she was also interviewed on Channel 2's "Good Living" Breakfast Show. Ruth was then interviewed for Haaretz AngloFile and written about on Israelity.com and Mouse.co.il.
